 Nirvana Nirvana was the most important band in the first half the 90's. It was the flagship of the popular grunge- scene which originates from Seattle. When Kurt Cobain is 17 he runs away from home and forms a band with former Melvins drummer Dale Crover (later to be replaced by Dave Grohl, now foreman of the foo fighters.) Kurt Dave and Krist Novoselic form the eventual form of Nirvana who break through with their CD nevermind in 1991. They score a couple of hits with, Smells like teen spirit, come as you are, Lithium and about a girl. In 1994 Kurt commits suicide. In his farewell-note he quotes Neill Young: its better to burn out than to fade away. |
